Memphis trip

We made a trip to Memphis this past week-end to visit. What a wonderful week-end it was! The zoo trip was terrific, the weather was just right, and we made several "talks". Did you know that in the wild animals leave the giraffe alone because they can kick the head right off the predator? The gentleman made the comment about a mother giraffe protecting her young being one tof the most deadly creatures on earth. Sydney and Cassie have stated the I am over protective at times, and even more so with Jasper. Going into the Christmas season I think about Marya nd the strenght it must have taken to watch as her child was hung on the cross. But that is another thought, we were on animals...think I would stay away too if I could lose my head. We saw the sealion show, Jasper loved watching them. The polar bears were fun and the panda's are so cute! If you get the opportunity, the Memphis zoo is pretty nice.

Jasper and T.J. were each curious of the other, but I think if we had stayed a another day or so they might have made friends. I awoke the first night with Jasper crying and T.J. watching us sleep, don't think he knew what to do with a baby. The next night he sat on the back of the sofa and Jasper "talked" to him instead of going to sleep. T.J.'s favorite place is under the table and by Sunday Jasper wanted to get him out. He did let Jasper pet him once, which Trena said was shocking. All in all it was a great trip, God brings people into our lives and it is a warm feeling when they become lifelong friends and true sisters in Christ.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Saturday outing

We met Megan and Devin and some of their friends at the zoo Saturday. This was Jasper's first time as a "big boy", no stroller. He enjoys looking at the animals and even tried his hand at feeding them this time around. He wasn't to sure if he liked them eating out of his hand or not, I think it was the fact they lick the food out of your hand. He is not big on having anything "stuck" on his hands, if he falls down and get dirt on them he brushes them off as soon as he gets back up! Which is fine with mommie, at least that is one less thing for me to teach him. Now if he would just not put "everything" in his mouth, including the dirt that he doesn't want sticking to him. He liked the crane, it even spread it's wings while he was watching. Very exciting stuff for a 14 month old!
