family updates....

It has been brought to my attention that it looks as though I am just a little bias with my posting...
And I'll admit it is sometimes easy to get wrapped up in the one the is under foot 24/7, but I do have current pictures of our beautiful daughters, so let me share them with you now.
Cassie graduated from Bastrop High School on May 8, 2009! She is now looking forward to future and whatever that might hold.
The proud dad with our baby girl!

Sydney completed the 7th grade this year and is growing up before our eye also. She did a great job in her classes. But I know she is SO glad that school is over for the summer. She is at this moment in Sparkman with Grandmother and Grandaddy. She told me the other day that she has been waiting months for summer to get here so she could go and spend time with them. She doesn't get to see them as much as she would like, even though it's only a 2 hour drive, we seem to stay pretty busy most week-ends.

Paul went to Bastrop and took pictures of Cassie before her prom, Sydney rode with him, so he was able to snap one of the two of them. (being bias again) Aren't them beautiful?! I think so, and they take pretty good pictures.

Paul and I are the same as always, never enough hours in the days, but thankful that we have the day to try and the health to give it a shot. God has blessed us with 3 amazing children, each unique in his/her own way.

Puppy love.....

Every once in awhile I let Jasper bring Patches with to run quick errands, we are waiting in line at Baker's at this time. Jasper had to take Patches' picture too, poor patches....she is so good with him; just wiggled out with him sticking the camera in her face the whole way! She is a good natured puppy, he wags her around alot! And for the most part she takes it. Of course she likes riding in the car seat too, she gets to lick all over him and there is not much either of us can do. I yell, no alot, and Jasper giggles.....it is never boring around our house. Patches has fast become a part of the family, of course I learned real fast that it was alot like a new baby in the house again! But this last week has gone better, she has let me sleep until 3 am and even 5 am! For all those that believe that every boy should have a puppy, I have a few words of advise! First, fore worn the mom if it's her first in a long time! And remember, little boys are HARD on everything, including animals! Other than that, it has even been fun at times! They play and run and are starting to get along better every day. Now, if I could just convince them both to potty train....small steps, right?

Easter weekend

riding in the firetruck at fun day at Mt Olive. He enjoyed it, but rode the whole time with his hands over his ears!

Hope everyone had a great Easter and enjoyed the family and egg hunts! I took Jasper to Mt Olive for their children's day on the Saturday before, he was not overly interested in the games but liked the duck pond. When it came time to hunt eggs, he went with all the kids, but put the eggs in others baskets, go figure, guess so he could play on the slides faster if he didn't have to keep up with eggs?

The picture of all 3 of us is after church, Jasper is not to thrilled to have to sit still, just wants to change and eat! The girls came to Sparkman after we were out of our dress up clothes. Of course I thought Jasper was THE most handsome man around.

Jasper update....

we sawDr. Mickey Tuesday, Jasper will have a set of tubes put in and adenoids taken out on March 23. Please pray for him, that he will have speedy recovery, and few if no complications. After reading about adenoidectomy on the internet this morning it appears there can be some bleeding; it seems that Cassie had some bleeding with hers. We will have to go on the 17th for pre-testing, she wants to make sure that his blood will clot normal. And YES, mommy is just a little nervous. But, this should make him all better and get him off the antibiotics!!! He has been on them for a month or better now.
More later

Just another week.....

Jasper playing around, mommy is having to clean up another mess......

And here he comes to help! He is such a good little boy, most of the time....he likes to "help" with everything. Paul asked what the new broom cost, told him it didn't matter if it helps me clean and saves time, it was worth every penny!!!! Jasper loves it!

On another note, the right ear is clear but the left ear now has an infection, guessing it was not a good sign when the doctor looks in the ear and goes "Oh my god!" Let's just say mommy was not feeling to well after that visit either. But fluid on the ear and infested are two different things, even if they treat them both with antibiotics!!! Go figure!

Other than that we are all fine here, we finally made it grandparents house a couple of weeks ago, Jasper makes himself right at home. Running up and down the step for first one thing and another with grandad looking on. Dad and grandad grilled steaks, Auntie came up for the day and it was a very nice Saturday.

We even got a picture of daddy! But don't tell him! :)

week 3.....

Jasper is on his third week of antibodies for ear infectious, I know in the big picture this is a small item, but it is big in our world, so please pray for him, if this one does not clear it up we are probably looking at tubes again. And he was doing so good! Or at least I have thought he was. So other than going to the doctor we have not been doing much.

Hope everyone had a great V-day! Ours was nice and quiet!

make cake....

Jasper wanted to make a cake the other day, thought cupcakes would be a better idea this go around. He is my little baker. If we go to cook something then we it turns into "i want make cake".

He enjoyed decorating and tasting the cupcakes, of course the orginal idea of giving them away went out the window with his "help" on this tray. He had to touch each cupcake! Lesson learned for mom, only put a couple out for Jasper to help decorate. Daddy had a nice surprise, supper and dessert, homecooked by mommy and Jasper.

Mother's 60th birthday...

Our mother had her 60th birthday last Saturday, and would you believe everyone showed up but me! Jasper was sick the first of the week and I came down with the stomach bug the last of the week! But I hear they had a good time and that is the important thing, that mother enjoyed her day. Thought I'd share a couple of pictures of the family together.
1st pic-mother's baby sister and her daughter and son, they came from Hammond. Isn't he a cutie pie!
2nd-opening gifts with some of the grandkids
mother and her kids and grandkids minus me and family :(
3rd-mother and siblings
4th-more gifts!
a fun day for all sorry I missed it! And yes for those that don't know I have 3 sisters and between the 4 of us, 9 grandkids! Ashley, has 2 boys, Amber boy and girl, and Megan 2 boys. Figure you already know I have 2 girls and a boy!:)

Another day at school

today was harder to leave, Jasper did not want to go to school, so I had to leave him crying. Almost made me cry! Paul assures me this is good for him, (not that he is able to walk away from him when crying) he needs to be able to make it without mommy by his side. I think 2 is a little young for that lesson, but then I guess they have to start at sometime. I did wait 45 minutes before calling back up there to make sure he had stopped crying and they said he was fine and riding on a tractor in the room! Who needs mom when you have toys and kids, right? I'm sure by 3:00 he will not remember being so unhappy with me.

home!!!

well, Paul had to work over, so I went to pick Jasper up at 3:00, I just couldn't see leaving him until 5:00...much to Jasper's dismay I'm sure. When I got there he was happily playing with 3 other boys and did not seem to care at all that mommy was not in the room, however he did make up for it by running to me when he heard my voice. I'm sure there will come a day when I will have to tell him to put the toys down and lets go, but today was not the day thank you Lord! Not sure my poor heart could have stood that. It was a good sign when after we were leaving in the car he told me he wanted to go to school. Guess we will play it by ear on which days he attends.
By the way, his daddy didn't want him to stay until 5:00 either! And has called me several times today to check on us!

I go to school.....

no I have not forgotten the basics of grammar, this is the sentence that I have heard for 2 days now from my son. He has decided that he wants to go to school like his sisters! We went and picked up the paperwork yesterday and were almost back home when he started again, I told him that the kids where already laying down for naps and he didn't need to go today, he could go tomorrow. "I lay down". One of those moments you wish you had a video camera handy. So of to Wal-Mart last night for a backpack, found a spider man one that he like, and for some reason a spongebob umbrella. Don't know why the umbrella but he has looked at them several times and they are always out of little boy ones, so we bought one last night. Jasper was to cute walked around the house with spongebob and pulling the backpack (it's on rollers). "I go to school", was repeated several times last night! Boy he finally put spider man by the door and hung spongebob on the knob so we could go to bed...
He did pretty good this morning, had a couple of moments of doubts but when I called to check on him they assured me he was fine and enjoying himself. I know this will be a good thing for him, it is just going to take a little adjustment on both out parts.

Mommie's little helper

Jasper's new thing this week is cooking (microwaving). He pulls his stool over and opens the door, places the food and "pushes" the buttons. If only you could see the look of joy on his face as he watches the food cook. He is so proud of the fact that he is helping and he can see the food going round and round! It takes so little to please them at this age. He had the honor of carrying the crescent rolls to the table the other night (put them in his place) and boy did he think he was something! I'm just hoping the "I help my mommy/daddy/grandad" continues on for years to come! I'll admit some days his help creates more work, but it is always worth it to see how much pleasure he gets.

By the way, Sydney got him an Elmo's kitchen (restaurant) for Christmas, he has had a lot of fun playing with it. One of those toys that you will not only get your money out of but then some!

A New Year!

A New Year and a new attitude! That's what we are looking forward to in 2009. I am at this time mobile, I finally got a laptop! Of course Paul says I have to share when we go out of town. Think I can handle those terms. Maybe now I can work on updates at least once a week...:) It is so hard to believe that 2008 is over! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and your families are all healthy and happy going into the new year. Should have pictures online next week.
So what "new" things are you and yours going to do this year? I am cleaning out closets, time to stop being a packrat! I don't have the room for things and don't need most of the items I hold on to. Going to set a budget and stick to it, pray for both of us on that one! And we are looking at changing churches, so there are a lot of big ones for us right of the bat. Let me know some of yours and I'll try and keep you updated on my success!
Love to all!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great turkey day and lots of fun with family. Jasper and I spent the day in Strong with my mother, sisters and their bunch. Daddy was a little under the weather, but healing. The kids grow so fast! AShley's 2 are growing...Ty is as tall as me, Reeve is a good size boy, not "fat" just big, he is going to make a great football player if he chooses to play. Amber's well, Jay is still thin, getting taller, and Laura is cute as a button. Devin went to CA with Jenny and Micheal and they were on their way home, stopped in TX to spend Thanksgiving with his family. Sounds like Devin had a great time! I can't wait to hear all about it. Forgot the camera but will try to remeber it for Christmas.

Learning new things.....

as many of you know, Cassie is a senior this year, so that means I am having to look at colleges! Keep us in your prayers! And yes I know she should have started last year...anyway. I will be filing and finding scholarship forms and college applications and the like for the next couple of weeks, wish me luck!
Sydney made all region choir! Don't think I mentioned that, we are very proud of her. They have a concert next month, so if interested in seeing our little girl let me know! I still have to find out the details.
Jasper is growing by leaps and bounds! It is so hard to believe that he is 2 years old! Cassie was out of school Tue and came to spend the day :), he ran through the house "cassie, cassie, cassie" I think she was very pleased that he can say her name now.
OH! I know you are not going to believe this, but EVERY November our family has something happen, grandmother (Paul's mom) broke her ankle and twisted the other one Sunday night. So pray for her and of course Daune who is taking care of her!
Our mission groups filled their shoe boxes last night at church, if you are not familiar with this idea check out http://www.samaritanspurse.org/ or contact a church in your area. The kids had a great time shopping last week, and they enjoyed arranging the items in the boxes, they would take them out and rearrange so they could get as much as possible in each box. It is wonderful to see the young ones wanting to do for someone else.

opps,,,

"oh crap" is one of my bad habits I'm trying to break, just slipped up and you guessed it, Jasper said it! OH MAN! is our new phase. I know crap is not "a 4 letter word" but it is not to pleasing to the ear either. There have been words that we have had to tell the girl we don't like to hear for whatever reason, one...gaugh, just didn't like it, sounded like god when she said it, one of the new ones, jacked up, don't ask but didn't like it either. Of course they think we are being silly, it's just words, right? How do you make children understand tone, phasing and attitude? Especially when they don't live with you. That has been a constant pray, to be a good parent and do what we think is best, not what is easiest. Back to Jasper, as you can tell, he is repeating words more these days. Loves animals, we went by the zoo the other day before playgroup and saw the monkeys, bears, dogs (wolf). Will have to video him and post! He is a hoot!
